Deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis on Jan. 15, and grew rapidly worse until death relieved him. He was married to LOUISA MAY in 1852. To this union were born seven children. The wife and two children preceded him to the hereafter. The living children are ELIZABETH, wife of CHAS. All the children were with him during his last sickness except JULIA, who could not be with him on account of the sickness of herself and infant son. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the aged wife and children in this their sad bereavement. He was conscious until a few hours before his death. He requested that his three sons, JOHN, CARSON and LEMUEL, and three sons-in-law, LEE AGAN, FRANK STEVENSON and E.D. FLANAGAN, act as pall bearers. His funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 26, at Oak Dale M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. John Harned of Essex, and Rev. Smith of Columbia.
