It's good to hear from you Martha!!And YES, we are related if your Great Grandfather was Lemial Morefield.Lemial was indeed my grandfather's brother. Would love to know how much you know about the family! One thing that I've found out since I first posted here is that my Great Grandfather, "James" Wesley wasn't "James" at all, but "John" Wesley instead!! Have you found that to be true, also?
Believe me, there is a Rozzell Chapel Cemetery....I've been there many times and have seen all of our ancestors' graves and markers. In fact, I have the entire cemetery on video, and have a photograph of Lemial and Minnie's, as well as Bill and Linnie's marker!Would love to send a copy of them to you, if you would send me your address.
I know your Uncle Dariel and Aunt Jewell. They don't live too far from me.I've known Dariel for sometime, but only met Jewell in 1996 when we had a Morefield Family Reunion.I have info. on both of them, and some on Martha Jane. All I have on William Thomas, Katherine Virginia, Billy Moss, and your Mother, Anna Murriell is their names. We definately need to talk!!
Let's see.....William and Lemial were brothers.....my Daddy, Claudie,(William's son), and your grandfather (Bill) were first cousins, your Mother and I are second cousins, which makes you my second cousin, once removed!
Do you know Lemial's sibblings? My grandfather, William Lafayette,or "Will" was the oldest born in 1870, next was Eliza Elizabeth, or "Bettie" born in 1872, Sarah Callie born in 1874, Lemial Franklin born in 1876, Louis M. born in 1879 (do you by chance know what the M. stands for?), and Edward Thompson, or "Ed" born in 1881.Bettie married Cornelius Anderson Yates, who was a minister and built Rozzell Chapel Church, to my understanding. One of Callie's son's, Milton Reed Clapp pastored Rozzell Chapel Church from 1945 until his untimely death in 1972.More later......
