Have you gotten any answers to this question, in the interim?

I ask because I too have an ancestor, Margaritta Esther Moreau, who is allegedly the SISTER of the General. I find this hard to believe because she died at age 80 in 1825, making her born in 1745, while the general was born in 1763. But still, we don't know anything further of her parentage, other than that she was a Huguenot.
