I would like to hear from anyone who can verify Joseph Marie Francois Moreau b.10.6.1764 Morlaix, France, as being the brother of General Jean Victor Marie Moreau. He is said to have fled France after the revolution to settle in Northern Ireland.
My ancestor was Stephen Moreau born February 1795 at Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland who is said to be his son.
Stephen is said to have enlisted, at age 16, in the East India Company's Foot Artillery, and embarked on 24.1.1812 on the "Cuffnels" disembarking at Fort St George, Madras, India on 12.6.1812.
