Hello Nancy What a veritable feast of information!! Thank you so very very much. I certainly shall follow up with the John More Assoc. I notice that J M Meloney acted as assistant editor/chronicler too. This family descend from Alexander Mitchell of Wilkes-Barre, Pa, a railroad locomotive engineer who designed the Consolidation which was tremendously successful in hauling the heavy coal trains over the Appalachians. This is where J M Meloney he gets the christian names "John Mitchell" from. Alexander's father was a Nova Scotia doctor, Dr Samuel Mitchell who was born in co. Londonderry, Ireland, in 1795. He is one of some 25 "Dr Mitchell's" who I am rsearching, all kin and all with roots in the Glendermott Valley -- one of them being Dr James Alexander Mitchell who came to South Africa in 1899, my own grandfather. Thank you so much for your kindness in helping me locate this branch of my family. Sincerely David Mitchell Cape Town South Africa Notify Administrator about this message?
