Morain, the name
Posted by: Jean-Baptiste Morain Date: December 01, 1999 at 06:53:40

I am french (from Paris) and my name is Morain. My family comes from a french region called Burgundy, especially from a department called Saône-et-Loire (Saône and Loire are two big rivers), and more especially from the region of a city called Châlon-sur-Saône. There are a lot of Morin or Maurin in France, but Morain with a (a) is rather rare name. Nowadays, there are some Morains in the region that I talk about. My parents are very interested in genealogy and, if somebody is interested in, I would be very happy to give you informations about my ancestors… and perhaps one might be one of yours !
Sorry for my English, thank you,
Jean-Baptiste (call me John if you like) Morain
