My "Tice" family tree includes an Elizabeth Moote in Canada in the early 1800's.
Elizabeth Moote had been born Nov 27, 1787 in Pennsylvania (with ancestors from Holland). Both the Tice and Moote families were United Empire Loyalists, and first settled in Gainsborough Township (near Niagara Falls), likely in the late 1700's or early 1800's.
John Tice married Elizabeth Moote (likely in 1803, their first child was born in 1804).Elizabeth Tice (Moote) died in 1851 and is buried in Caistorville, Ontario, Canada (about 40 miles from Niagaga Falls).
If this is the same Moote family, your Daniel Moote could be Elizabeth's brother's son.
In the 1851 Census for Caistor there there was a Benjamin Moote (49 years old) and his wife Penelope (45 years old); plus a Benjamin Moote (25 years old) and his wife Mary Moote (23 years old); and children 5 to 24 years (but no Daniel). He could be from another family that stayed in Gainsborough.
Although this proves nothing, it may help in some small way.My interest is to find my Elizabeth's parents, and trace the connection back to Pennsylvania.I will contact you if I come across a Daniel, likewise please contact me if you find that Daniel is from the Caistor/Gainsborough area.
I live west of Toronto, Canada, less than an hour from the Caistor/Gainsborough area.
