Hello Susanne,

I am From the Manchester area James Moores is my great great grandfather. he was brought up in the ancoats area and he nd he ran a scrap metal firm in Miles platting for he entire life. He had one son another James Moores who had two daughters. The name Moores from this line seemed to end and the family name became Thompson. Again the Thompsons had tow daughters one being my grandmother and the family name changed to Bissett. The Scrap metal yard was up until 1995 still known as James Moores ltd. At this point the company was taken over by EMR, however the name James Moores is heavily associated with Scrap metal. I hope this is some help to you. If not sorry to have wasted yout time.
