Moorer Plantation and the Old Moorer Burying Ground
I believe the old original settlement site is out the Bellevile Road from Orangeburg, past the county line into Calhoun county, over the top of the hill (John Henry Moorer's home place to the right.) then down the hill about a third of a mile and 500 yards in and across the little branch is a oak grove, which is I believe the original buring ground of Peter Moorer. Early litered headboards long gone.
I have wanted to clean out the poison ivy (I'm alergic) and do archeology on the open areas to 'discover' early graves, but alas no time and no money.
If this is true Peter Moorers original home site is nearby for this IS the headwaters of the Four Holes.
