The family of Ann Moore and John Anderson is one I would love to know more about, as they were living in the vicinity of my ancestor, Sterling Moore (bc 1765) in the Hawfields area of old Orange. I don't have much on Ann, except that possible children include the daughter Charity who m. Thomas Lapsley and a couple of possible sons (not proved). A Wm Anderson may have m Jennet Mebane and a James Anderson may have married Elizabeth (possibly Mebane). Do you have any information on Ann Moore and John Anderson's children besides Charity?

A second reason for my interest in this Moore group is through the Lapsley/Lashley (?) connection. I have heard that Lapsley is sometimes also written as Lashley, and another Moore group who lived a little to the south or east of Sterling Moore, but also in the Hawfields area had close connections to Lashleys there. A James Moore seems to have had two sons, a James Jr. and a son Valentine, each of whom married Lashley sisters, Nancy and Elizabeth, believed to have been daughters of a Barnabas Lashley, who had land adjoining. There is also a Thomas Lashley or Laspsley nearby, but I do not know the relationship, if any.
Do any of these sound familiar? Have you ever heard of a Barnabas Lashley?
I have completely undocumented and unconfirmed information that Ann Moore who m. John Anderson may have been the daughter of a Margaret Moore who was supposedly married to a British soldier and came to America with daughter Ann to claim land in NC. I have NO evidence to back this up and can't support it with any information I've ever seen.
Do you have anything more on Ann?
