I have been working on John Moore & Elizabeth Mansker Moore for years and believe that I have a break through. Ancestry.com lists an Elizabeth Moore who was born in 1831 and died in 1917 in Randolph County. It also states that her father was Jack Mansker. From the censuses, it states that her father was from Tennessee. I then dug further and found John Mansker was from Sumner County, TN. There was a lawsuit between Robert Moore and John Mansker regarding a salt delivery in the early 19th century. I believe that these two men were the fathers of my John Moore and Elizabeth Mansker, as they were in Randolph County, were about the same age, and were from Tennessee. I think this Robert Moore was the spouse of Louvisa Miller, and this John (Jack) Mansker was the spouse of Martha Shaver.
This line of logic would make John and Sam Mansker 2nd cousins, and could possibly explain why John Moore and Elizabeth Mansker Moore were staying with him in 1850 at the time of the census.
I also believe that if this logic is correct, then Robert Moore is the son of Col. William Moore, Revolutionary War patriot, who was from this area of TN.
Can anyone provide any thoughts on this premise?
