Revolutionary War Patriot & ancestor King Moore was born May 18, 1762 in Westfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. He married Rebecca Mitchell on 19 October in 1783 in West Springfield, also in that state. They had at least a couple of children. After first wife Rebecca's death, Moore married Susan Tarbox.
Altogether, Moore had 12 children, according to a Moore family book written by by H. L. Moore and published in 1903. As well, specific Styles/Stiles info was found on page 71 of the same book (for dau. Betsey's husband Ben Styles).
King Moore died on April 15th in 1837 in Fredonia, Chautauqua County, New York. (as found in cemetery transcription of "Pioneer Cemetery,", Fredonia, New York. Additional info Intentions of Marriage for King Moor published Oct 19, 1783; and also mentioned in, H.L. Moore book.)
King Moore resided during the American Revolution at Westmoreland, Oneida County, NY. He assisted in establishing American Independence while acting in the capacity of Privateer. He had enlisted at West Point, New York, in Captain Henry Burbick's Company, Colonel John Crane's Regiment in the Massachusetts line in November 1778. Moore served until 10 June 1783, when he was finally discharged.
(This is according to Moore's Revolutionary War Pension #S43031, found in the National Archives. This record also mentions his daughter Betsey and identifies her mother as Moore's first wife Rebecca Mitchell.)
King Moore had 12 children total from his two marriages. This is according to the book “Andrew Moore of Poquonock & Windsor CT and His Descendants,” by H. L. Moore.
