LAVERTY, Joy (nee Moore) Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Thursday, December 25, 2008 with family and friends by her side in her 86th year. Beloved wife of 62 years to Frank Laverty. Loving and devoted mother of Michael (Louise) and the late Wendy (Richard Greer). Cherished grandma of Kaarina (Ryan Dewan), Sean, Shannalea (Rick Boudreau) and Shayne (Nicole Stemmler); and Nannie to Alex and Keira. Dear sister-in-law of Loretta Moore, Margaret Biscope, and Pat Hughes. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Sister of Evelyn Ricard. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of C4, Queensway Carleton Hospital for all of their caring support. Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue, Barrhaven, Saturday, January 3, 2009 after 1 p.m., followed by a Service in Memory of Joy in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memoriam donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
