I have come across some interesting information concerning my father's cousin, William Judson Moore Jr. During WWII he was in the 200th NM Coast Artillery, stationed in the Philippines. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese, and survived the "Bataan Death March" only to die in the sinking of the Japanese "Hell Ship" Arisan Maru in October of 1944, as the Japanese were trying to remove POWs from the Philippines to Formosa. The following site has detailed information on the sinking of the ship from accounts of the 8 survivors out of the almost 1800 prisoners on board.
