Philip Davy MOORE wrote an account of his life which has turned up at the Korumburra Historical Society. While it has some relevance to this area as he spent some time close by, it must be something that members of the family would treasure. I'm hoping that a member of the family might see this and claim the memoir. Philip Davy Moore was the son of George Moore and Phoebe Riseborough. George died at Warragul in Victoria in 1955, Phoebe in Melbourne in 1959. Philip was born in London in 1909, and had a brother Eric b. 1906 who died in 1977, and sister Molly b. 1913. George b. 1875, had been in the Scots Guards, and a was Grenadier Guard, also served in the Boer War. He and Phoebe came to Australia in 1925 spending the first period of time in Australia near Bendigo. Philip came, also in 1925 on the Dreadnought Scheme, settling initially at Murwillimbah. Hopefully a connection will see this and be able to claim the memoir.
Regards,
Janet.
