Hi Betty,
I just responded to Debra Alie before finding your posting. Thank your for your information.
I am working on the John Moore who was b. abt 1608 died 6 Jan 1674 in Sudbury MA. He married Elizabeth Rice, from my research, the daughter of Elizabeth Frost and her first husband Henry Rice. Her 2nd husband was Philemon Whale and is where the Rice/Whale confusion for Elizabeth begins.
Further complicating the picture, the daughter of Elizabeth Rice and John Moore, Elizabeth Moore, married Henry Rice the brother of Thomas Rice, both sons of Edmund Rice and Thomasine Frost, the sister of Elizabeth Frost above.
Adding more complexity to the story is that Thomas Rice and wife Mary King, Elisha Rice married Elizabeth Wheeler who was the great granddaughter of William White/Susanna (Fuller)and granddaughter of Resolved White all passengers on the Mayflower which suggests some family tie with Richard Moore, Mayflower.
I am trying to find out if any one has any documentation that will provide the names of John Moore's parents? I have seen suggestions that they were Thomas William Moore and margaret Whael (with that Whale name showing up again that is closely associated with Elizabeth Rice, makes this suggestion reasonable).
I would like to trade thoughts and research with you regarding John Moore's lineage.IF he does indeed descend from Thomas William Moore, there are suggestions that he may in fact trace back to several of the Barons of the Magna Carta.Have you found this same data?
Regards,
Donna Crosby
