Abraham is Julius Mooney/Mauney who was married to Alma Burgess. Abraham Angel on 1870 census living with Astela (sister or wife?), Renee b 1826, Sofia or Sopa born in Maryland 1782 and Time or Tirne, 1 year old. The Angel/Mauney/Mooney/Burgess family is all connected in this region and both Burgess's and Angel's were moved to Oklahoma during the Removal. While all of the records I have found list these family lines as African American, at least one relative who is in her 90s distinctly recalled this weekend (10/21/12) to her great-niece that Julius's parents were Native American. Does anyone have any answers to these riddles? I am researching this line for my good friend. We just discovered the "Angel" surname this weekend and are very excited and hopeful to learn more. Thank you so much.
Teresa
