Passing of Junior Dale Mooney

This is part of the obituary for my Grandfather who passed away last week. I am just now starting to look up some family history and as of yet, I do not know much. Hopefully someone will see this and get in touch with me. My Grandfather used to tell a story about 3 Mooney brothers that came over from Ireland on a boat in the 1800's. Junior Dale Mooney, 81, of Bache, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Born March 8, 1926, in Tulsa, he was the son of James and Olive (Lewis) Mooney. He married Anna Clay on Nov. 18, 1972, in Las Vegas. He worked in the oil fields for 35 years.

Later he worked for McAlester Public Schools for 15 years and was currently working for the McAlester Country Club.

He was a member of Word of Life Church in Bache. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1098 in McAlester and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 79 in McAlester.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Mooney, of the home; two daughters, Patty Wyatt, of California, and Rebecca Riley, of Arkansas; four sons, Larry Mooney, of McAlester, Cliff Roberts, of California, Mike Roberts, of Eufaula, and Clyde Roberts, of Crowder.
