Dear Charlie:
I just discovered your posting and would love to pursue with you at some length some things about our Mooney ancestors.
First, our connection is that your Jacob Parnell Mooney was brother to my great grandfather Jesse Mooney.Their parents were James Mooney and Henrietta Webb.James was the youngest son of either Jacob Mooney, Sr., or Jacob Mooney, Jr.
Secondly, the main thing I want to discuss with you is where the two Jacob's came from, and who they came with.I believe both Jacobs came into Philadelphia on the ship Phoenix on August 28, 1750, out of Rotterdam and Cowes. They were listed on the passenger manifest as "Jacob Muni, Sr." and "Jacob Muni, Jr." and there were also a "Christian Muni," "Conrad Muni," and "Andreas Muni."
Can you tell me more about this "South Shore" where Jacob may have come from, and who are the "five brothers"?Where did you get this information and what proof do you have? What county in Ireland is or was "South Shore" located.
I have been to Ireland twice trying to find out where Jacob Mooney came from and need to know a county of origin before I stand any chance of finding him.
Please email me direct at [email protected].
Thanks,
Eugene F. Mooney
