Betty, we don't know much about our James Mooney. This is what we have:
James Mooney b. 1767 in Chester Co., PA; d. 22 Oct 1844 in Fayette Co., OH.He married (1) unknown, (2) Katherine Crumley Eyre 1804 in Fayette Co., OH.
James, from Chester Co., PA to Berkeley Co., VA, then in 1800 to Highland Co., OH.Buried Walnut Creek Quaker Cemetery, Ohio.He was a teacher, judge & farmer. He wrote with quill pen a book on Geometry, Trigonometry, Surveying and Navigation.
We are trying to connect James to Neal O'Mooney (immigrant) of Chester Co., PA but are missing 2-3 generations. If your John Mooney was a Quaker, there is a good chance he & James were related somehow.I am descended from James & his 1st wife (unknown).
Sorry I can't give you more.
