MECHANICSBURG - Gary L. Moomey, 56, of Mechanicsburg, died at 2:55 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at St. John's Hospital. He was born November 29, 1954 in Springfield to Gerald and Mary Dowdell Moomey, Sr.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include four children: Josh (Diane) Moomey of Lansing MI, Marisa Moomey of Decatur, IL; Traci (Tony) Samios of Rochester and Brad (Janis) Serven of MI; Special friend, Pam Moomey; nine grandchildren, Ashley Marrison, Melissa Bottomley, Thomas, AJ and Gregory Samios, Katherine, Brittany, Tristen & Ian Serven; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Adrianna and Baby Dean; sister, Deb (Larry) Larson, niece and nephew Mattea and Andy Larson, his special canine companion, Lacy and his many friends.

Gary was the owner of Triple M Hydroseeding and borders and was a former Mechanicsburg police officer. He was a member of NRA and liked to ride Harleys.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to his Abe's family and the doctors and nurses who took care of him in his final hours.

Memorial gathering and prayer service: 3 4 pm Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home. A Celebration of his Life will continue at Abe's Hideout in Mechanicsburg immediately following services at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire for both services.
