Deborah:
Although it is not without some other theories, I believe it is generally accepted that the Jonathan who married Elizabeth Woodhead was the son of Jonathan Mooers, born 1646 and married to Constance Langhorne. The 1646 Jonathan was the son of Edmund and Ann Mooers.
I realize that some other researchers do not agree with the above but The difficulty is that someone purports to have a bible that suggests a Jonathan was born in 1694, and a decendent in that line a long ago claimed to go back to Edmund by making the 1694 Jonathan the son of the 1646 Jonathan. However, I think the Will of Jonathan Mooers (born 1646/died 1692) and the Probate Records in Massachusetts refutes the suggestion that Edmund's son Jonathan had a son Jonathan who was born in 1694. That;s pretty difficult if you die in 1692 as the Probate Records indicate.
