I want to briefly address the CARNEGIE link...pls. see message # 169 posted by David COWAN in 2006 and again #9821 in Jan. of this year. This man would be a link to our newest Ydna Moody family. Also the MOODIE and Mudie books both (I believe) note the relations or intermarriages of the Carnegies. Andrew Carnegie, or his family I believe is now the owner of either Scrabster or Skibo Castle which used to be in the possession of the MUDIE's as noted in the message this reply is attached. From pg.116 of The Moodie Book (op. cit.), MUDIE of Courthill, it is noted under David MUDIE son of John MUDIE of Bryantoun, that his David's son James MUDIE called "of Arbeckie" had some link to a David CARNEGIE first Earl of Northesk with land dealings etc. dated Aug. 1687.
This David Mudie's son of the same name had a daughter Christian MUDIE who married John DOIG who was Provost of Brechin who died in 1735 and they had a son David DOIG of Cookstoun who had 4 daughters, the eldest also named Christian DOIG who married Sir James CARNEGIE, third Baronet, M.P. 6th Earl of Southesk and in 1906 at the time of the publication of this book, he was noted as the ancestor of the present Earl.
Another descendant of this line a John MUDIE, Esq. third of Arbekie who was baptized at Lunan on Feb. 9, 1663, he married 1st to Magdalen daug. of David CARNEGIE (above mentioned) 2nd Earl of Northesk and they had several children who died young.

The above John Mudie's son of the same name who was the 4th of Arbekie, married (their proclamation was at Lunan Nov. 17, 1700) to Magdalen CARNEGIE daug. of the Rev. James CARNEGIE Laird of Craigo and an Episcopal minister of Barrie. They had 4 sons James, John, George and Robert and 3 daughters, Anna, Margaret and Elizabeth MUDIE.
Elizabeth Mudie married Robert SMITH around 1736.

The GLENNIE/Glenny family also links to the Moody's of Nor. Ireland as has been shown on this board before. From the Irish Pedigrees book Vol. II by O'Hart publ. in 1892,
David Glennie/Glenny was a Knight from Ayrshire, Scotland who settled in the Ulster area of Co. Down. (Nor. Ireland)
The Glenny's wee connected with the Earl of Cassilis' (Marquis of Ailsa's) family. [MY NOTE - as were the KENNEDY's].
William GLENNY married twice, his 2nd wife was Hannah WATSON.
The REID family is intermarried with these descendants several times.
Joseph (James or John...his name is quite confused in these texts) GLENNY married as his 2nd wife Bithia MOODY daughter of Rev. Dr. John MOODY and Anne WATSON (son of Rev. James Moody (b.1705) and Frances KENNEDY, he son of John MOODY (b.c1677) of Tandragee, Co. Armagh and Elizabeth SHANNON).
The links to the GORDON family is among this lines descendants many of whom went to Australia.

Again, it is my strong belief that this early John MOODY who married Elizabeth SHANNON in/of Tandragee, Co. Armagh, Nor. Ireland could be linked to the early Alexander MUDIE of Magilligan, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland.

On pg. 126 of The Moodie Book is noted under Andrew MUDIE said to be of the line of Sir Thomas MUDIE of Kinnettles, Provost of Dundee, that Andrew married Elizabeth JACK and they had a son Patrick MUDIE who in 1728 renounced all of his interests in the Hilltown and Dundee properties in favor of his mother Elizabeth JACK and his brother Thomas MUDIE who was a weaver. This Patrick MUDIE married Helen GIBB and they had a son named Alexander MUDIE who was bapt. at Mains on May 13, 1738.

That is all for now, but again, I think this very well shows the links between these and our Ydna Moody family's going waaay back in time.
There is still so much more to add here, and hopefully this will catch someones attention who relates to these lines and they can share a bit more or help to fill in some other gaps we might not have.
