Hi Sharyn,
If your John Anderson MOODY was from Hartford, CT or Harwinton, CT (see message # 7832 as Fred Saunders pointed out to me), if this is your family line then I am sorry that at the moment I don't have any further details for you as I'm not related to the Hartford, CT lines of Moody's.
Their Ydna test results revealed that they are of a completely different HaploType than any of the other Moody lines and yet they have very well documented genealogy to back up most all of their heritage...from the Edmund Moodye /Moody line of the 1400's from the area of Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, England.

Apparently the Rowan Co., NC area was a large area for Quaker families too. I'm not implying that your family were Quakers, but a check of that areas Quakers or in Hinshaw's books on the Quaker families in the Rowan Co. area might be worth the effort just to rule it out in case you don't know for certain.
Good Luck to you and if I should ever stumble across anything regarding your couple (John and Mary), I will come back here to post about them.
