Here is something else that MIGHT be of interest down the road. Again from the IGI records but Again with NO source (only from "patron sheets" which means it could be heresay rather than taken from the Old Parish or Church records)... I found the following... James MOODY birth - Nov. 17, 1810 Christened Dec. 16, 1810 at Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland son of John MOODY and Margaret STEVENSON...the same parents that were given for the Allan MOODIE/Moody born to this couple in Oct. 1805 Paisley, Renfrew whom I ~supspect~ MIGHT be the Allan MOODIE/Moody who married Isabella McQUISTAN that I posted about on this thread earlier. This son James MOODIE/Moody is in a proper birth range to have POSSIBLY been the father of John MOODY b.1835 who married Mary Ann LESLIE also b. 1835 in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland. From another Observation Only on my part that MIGHT relate to this line somehow...again from the IGI records and this time With Sources cited... Batch # M119895 James MOODIE (b.c1798...I am estimating) married Janet GEDDES b.c1801 (I estimated) (would later be found spelled GETTY) daughter of Alexander GEDDES (b.c1793 I estimated) on Aug. 12, 1820 at St. Cuthberts Church (Church of Scotland) in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. From this Same Batch - Alexander GEDDES also had a daughter named Jean GEDDES who married Archibald CAMPBELL (in the same church) on March 20, 1825. SAME BATCH - a Robert GEDDES (a name which IS found in one of our Ydna MOODY family trees in Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland) had a daughter Isobella GEDDES who married a Joseph GARTH in the same church on May 2, 1820. Another Batch # M119881 shows the following: Alexander GEDDIES (Note spelling change...sic Getty's) married Janet FORTUNE on Dec. 18, 1779 at St. Cuthbert's Church in Edinburgh, Scotland. Did they have a son named "Alexander" b. c1783 who was the father of Janet GEDDES who married James MOODIE?? The names, dates and location certainly seem to fit well. SAME BATCH - David GEDDIES m. Margaret STEWART Dec. 18, 1779 at the same church. (the Stewart name along with the Getty's, Moody's, Leslie's etc. are all intermarried with one of our Ydna cousins lines). SAME BATCH - James GEDDIES m. Elizabeth ROBERTSON Jan. 1785 same church Sidney GEDDIES (female) son of William GEDDIES m. Benjamin BUCHANAN Nov. 1779 same church Here is Another Possibility for the parentage of the Alexander GEDDES whose daughter Janet married James MOODIE... Batch # C110432 Alexander GEDDES christened Oct. 17, 1784 at Wick, Caithness, Scotland (I've already shown how the MOODIE's, McQuiston's etc. were in Early Caithness church records...so finding these folks here is no surprise). son of Alexander GEDDES and Marjory MALCOLM. Is This Alexander the father of the Janet GEDDES who married James MOODIE in Edinburgh? SAME BATCH - Alexander GEDDES and Marjory from above also had a son Robert GEDDES christ. in Jan. 1787 Wick, a daughter Elspeth christ. in 1778, son James christ. in Oct. 1789, son William in Feb. 1782 and All were at Wick, Caithness, Scotland and All are from the Church of Scotland records at Wick in Caithness. Here is another Possibilty for the Parents of the James MOODIE who married Janet GEDDES... BATCH C115746 - With Sources cited James MOODIE christened May 17, 1800 Port Glasgow, Renfrew, Scotland son of William MOODIE and Jean LAIRD They also had a son Andrew MOODIE christened June 17, 1802 at the same place. Another - from Batch C119874 - With Sources cited James MOODIE chris.- Sept. 8, 1802 St. Cuthbert's Church in Edinburgh, Scotland son of Walter MOODIE and Janet WISHART - Did this James have a son John MOODY/Moodie b. 1835 who married Mary Ann LESLIE in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland?? SAME BATCH as above - John LESLIE christ. May 22, 1795 son of John LESLIE and Jean GILCHRIST. Again I notice that the Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland area had a lot of the same surnames from those early times that inter-married with our Moody - McQuiston/McCuiston etc. family's. I present these ONLY as Possibilites for links to our family trees. Nothing has been proven so far, but this serves to show that they MIGHT be links which someday might be able to be proven. If anyone can shed further light on any of these lines, I would be most greatful to learn about them. Thank You. Notify Administrator about this message?
