Thanks Debbie, You are right, someone could come along and be the very person who we've been waiting to meet that could Finally piece all of this together for us. I've been doing the genealogy for 28+ years now and been vigorously searching for my MOODY family since 1995...but with no luck yet. It wasn't until after we did the Ydna test that so much of what we now know really helped to eliminate so many of the questions we'd had for years. I was always told that we came from the William line of England to Newbury, MA. Now we Know that is NOT true. Next I thought well, maybe we descended from the John Moody line of England to Hartford, CT...again the Ydna proved we are NOT of that line either, nor do we share Ydna with any of the Moody lines from England that went to VA in the South. My last hope was the Clement Moody line of Exeter, NH and while my family tree IS inter-married into several of the same lines that the Clement family is, the Ydna test results showed we were NOT of that line either, HOWEVER we ARE of the HaploGroup. Which essentially means that our group branched off of the same lineal tree WAAAAAAAY back in history...I'm talking thousands of years ago, so we most likely at some point did share a common ancestor. The Clement line is pretty certain they are of a Scottish background too. Our Moody's are of a strong Norwegian line that most likely left Norway (Perhaps) during the early Viking raids and we MIGHT descend from those early MODI's/MODDI's, MUDY/Muddie, MUDIE/MOODIE's that show up in the early Scotland records. All I know is that a Huge amount of the earliest records taken from the IGI's on Family Search which were obtained from the Old Parish Church records, some actually dating back to the 1500's, show our Same Family's inter-marrying with each other going back to those times. It is from these old records that I have based my theories on for the last several years since our Ydna tests and the continued efforts of many researchers and now new Moody ydna cousins, have shared their family genealogies, that we've been able to piece together bits and fragments of our Family Tree's early history's. I think we have made great strides over the last 3, now almost 4 years since our ydna test results came back and that is why I fully believe that the only way now to ever Prove our lineage and earliest history in Scotland will come from Ydna test results. And, it might be that our MOODY's never were in Scotland and were literally left over families who stayed on in Ireland from the early Norwegian viking raids of families who inhabited those places during their reign. I have no idea at this time. Anyway, apologies for my ramblings on. Thanks again for all of your help. I do hope someone will recognize something amongst all of our postings and will be able to better help us sew up a few of our lines once and for all. Take care.
