That's very interesting indeed because Moddi or a variation thereof is said to be an old Norse form of the spelling of our name. MODI was the mythological Norwegian god Thor's son's name. (pronounced Moe-dee).
In the old Orkney records a Johannes MODDI (John Moody) went from Orkney to Norway. He was a weaver.
So this is interesting indeed. These could be some of our very very early Norwegian-Scottish-Irish family.
