Here are some family links that show how the Jackson family of whom Pres. Andrew Jackson is connected to also links to the Reynolds family of VA and Surry Co., NC.
It appears that a Mary Katheine SMITH married Richard Joshua "R. J." REYNOLDS of VA, she of Mt. Airy, Surry Co., NC daughter of Zachary Taylor SMITH and Mary Susan JACKSON.
Apparently from Leola Grim Tobin's book on the Jackson family genealogy, the Smith's and Reynold's were related back in VA before some of them removed to NC.
Mary Susan JACKSON's parents were John Henry JACKSON of Stokes Co., NC and Elizabeth H
John's Father was Amer JACKSON son of Samuel Jackson, Sr. who was a brother to Andrew JACKSON, Sr. father of Pres. Andrew Jackson.
Samuel Jackson's father was Dr. Joseph JACKSON of Nor. Ireland who died in LIMAVADY, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland, according to Leola Grim Tobin's - Jackson genealogy which may have a lot of errors in it, I am not certain of how well Sourced this book was.
She said that Samuel Jackson, Sr. (b. c1726) had brothers who worked in Benjamin Franklin's Print Shop in Philadelphia.
I thought this was interesting and adds yet another part of the larger family tree to research.
