Norman Ream Montrose was born Aug. 29, 1915 in Des Moines, Iowa. His father was John Putnam Montrose, b. Dec. 12, 1866 in Brooklyn, NY. Died Aug. 18, 1957 in the Foothills Nursing Home, Longmont, Colo. John graduated from Hamilon College, Clinton, NY. in 1887 with a degre of A.B. and attained the distinction of a Phi Beta Kappa key. He later went into banking. He later moved to Denver, CO where he operated an insurance company under the name of Alverson and Montrose. Alverson was his father-in-law.
The Montrose roots go way back to Pierre Montras born in France in 1660. It is a very interesting family and I am honored to be part of it.
