James Montgomery and Hugh Crockett
Both of these men owned lands in or near what was called
the Den. The Den was place along the North Fork of Roanoke
River.
If you look at a present day map you will find this place
as I have, and it is east of Blacksburg Virginia about
2-3 miles.
It was also called "Devil Den" and "Montgomerys Den"
Before it was owned by James Montgomery this land belonged
to John Robinson, but by marriage to Robinson's Widow
Mary Crockett it came into the possession of Montgomery.
