Thomas Montgomery held about 150 acres by warrant of
April 11, 1749 and by his Will ordered it sold and the
proceeds divided among the children of his daughter,
Jane Campbell.
December 26, 1787 Rebecca Campbell, Thomas Campbell,
John Campbell, and James Campbell sold part of said
tract to Thomas Patterson, while the other was sold
to Robert Johnson, who sold to George Retzer, Margaret
Clendenin, James Retzer, John Johnston Jr., and John L.
Patterson now own the whole tract in separate divisions.
Thomas Patterson, grandfather of John L. Patterson, was
a step-son of Thomas Montgomery, as his father, James
Patterson married the Widow of Thomas Montgomery.
