1) You said you had George's ship manifest... can you tell me the ship, date and port where he arrived... I can not find it. ----- Ship is Gera, March 22, 1907 at age 24, port of Baltimore, Md. Destination--Barberton, Ohio to friend Mita Bogic (may be relative??). Under name--George Bojic

Robert: Did you notice on the ship manifest that following the Certificate of Arrival number... is the number 505? That meant there was a discrepancy between the person on the manifest and the one applying for citizenship. Was the age off? Did he apply under a different name? Also on that manifest was a Jovan BOJIC and a Jovan BELOVIC (Jovan yohvahn = John) In re to Mita BOGIC... for some reason Ancestry does not have the second page... so I can not see his name on the original... Mita is no doubt a diminutive for Dmitar.

2) Where did they live in the US? Just Michigan? Or did they ever live in Indiana? Or Ohio? --- They had 2 children in Akron, Ohio, then 2 children in Lebanon, Pennslyvania, then 2 children in Detroit, Mich. They both died in Detroit. George birthday is 25 Sept 1883.
I think maybe my grandmother was in Joliet,Illinois in 1910 working as a servant, private home, with name misspelled on census as 'Rozenka'. This is a BIG maybe.

3) How did you come up with Jazak, Irig? ==== On ship manifest and the dates match with naturalization numbers which are penciled in on form. Also, his brother
Dusan's ship manifest says 'Jazak'. I know Mariapocs is in Hungary and that Jazak is in Vojvodina, but the people that live there still say Yugoslavia and their emails on the Hugarian sites end in .YU

Robert said: Are you saying that people who live in Mariapocs call Mariapocs Yugoslavia? While Anna may have been of Serb background the name RUZINSKA is ethnically speaking Ruthenian. Are you sure that you have the correct Anna's ship manifest?

Also Summit County Clerk of Courts has original Naturalization document images online, where you will find Dusan and Anna's paperwork. Also I found another ship manifest for Dusan, where it was transcribed as Husband Dusan, they were coming back to the US from Sprpski Itbe (Srpski Itebej)

There are a couple of places where you may want to find help. (but as I mentioned the parish records for Mariapocs are available.... and even though you don't speak another language... I would strongly encourage you to order those records and give it a try... there are only a handful of words that you need to know and the LDS Family Search web page has a glossary of various words... I began much the same way...)
