Legend of few families from Boka is:

On mountain DURMITOR (at north of Montenegro) in clan DROBNJACI Was 5 brothers. Four of them (GOJKO, ANDRIJA, LAZAR and ILIJA) was at home when Turkish solders came to collect some sort of tax (harach). They ask for womans and brothers kill them. In fear of blood feud they
leave village forever. When fifth youngest brother came back at home he didn't found them. He start to moan-ing (or howl-ing; sorry my english language is very poor) and people named him with surname JAUKOVIC(H).
Andrija, Gojko, Lazar and Ilija at first came to Hercegovina where Andrija remained and changed surname in ANDRIJASEVIC(Andrijashevich). Other brothers later came in Boka Kotorska. Gojko remind in village near Herceg Novi, and changed surname in GOJKOVIC(Gojkovich). Lazar and Ilija decided to remained at village Ledenice in part of Boka Kotorska named Krivosije(Krivoshije). From them are families LAZOVIC(Lazovich) and ILIC(Ilich).

All that migrations was around 1700. Similar migrations and histories was very often during Othoman Empire reign(ruling) on Balkan. Due to that our ancestors are changed surnames but never changed Orthodox family feast. That is unique even at Orthodox Christian world. And that why the family feast is most important lead in investigation of our families. Orthodox family feast of above families is St.George.

I know that From family ILIC/Ilich at the end of 19st and beginning of 20st two brothers immigrated in America. One of them (youngest one) was policeman in NY around 1910-20. Possibly NIKOLA/Nicola/Niccolo.

Usual names in family was: ILIJA, LAZAR, GOJKO, ANDRIJA, MRDAK, NIKOLA, PETAR

Also interested at family names LAZOVIC, ANDRIASEVIC, JAUKOVIC, GOJKOVIC
