Hi Stephanie'
The Martinovich family is one of the largest in the Cetinje area, where they come from. So large that in fact they may marry among themselves. They all are descendants of Knjaz Martin (Lord Martin) that lived in Montenegro in the 14th Century and his five sons. The house of Knjaz Martin can still be found near Cetinje, the old Montenegrin capital city, in the village of Bajce. It now belongs to Vukica Martinovic, the last descendant of the main branch of the Martinovic. It is difficult to exactly trace the origine of a Martinovic due
to their large number. Some Martinovic are even muslims. So story goes that a Martinovic had to convert to islam in order to marry a woman famous for her beauty...
That's all, but with more information I could help you a little better. My cousin, Vukica, would be glad to help you trace your ancestry.
