I was born in Santurce (1954). Most of the "cepa" is originally from Trujillo. Most of my family was raised and still live in Rio Piedras.
I have an aunt that has researched this subject for years and has not had much success. My father's last name was Montañez-Garcia. Other family in Gurabo, Caguas, Las Piedras and San Lorenzo.
My father was raised in Rio Piedras where he lived all his life, Félix Aurelio Montañez-Garcia 1932-1994. My aunts/uncles are: Efrain, Raúl, Maritza, "Papo", "Wichy", "Nerín", "Ñeco", "Ñeca" & "Puruquín". How about those nicknames!
I agree you, most of us are related!
I live nearby... San Antonio, I frequently travel to Killeen TX. I am retired Army and have made Floresville my home.
