This may not be of much help but maybe a clue:
1930 Federal Census, Hardin, Big Horn County, MT
William Tuchenhagen, Head, Age 31, Single, POB: MT, Father's POB: Germany, Mother's POB: Missouri, Laborer, Odd jobs.

The only other Tuchnhagen family I found in Montana was the 1900 census (it appears to be the above William Tuchenhagen's family):
1900 Federal Census, Park City, Yellowstone County, MT
William Tuchenhagen, Head, DOB: Feb 1866, Age 34, Married 6 years, POB: Germany; Imm. 1885; Farmer
Jennie, Wife, DOB: Feb 1885, Age 25, Married 6 years, 3 children born, 3 children living, POB: MO; Father's POB: Germany; Mother's POB: Tennessee
Vilda, Daughter, DOB: Mar 1896, Age 4, POB: MT
William, Son, DOB: Apr 1898, Age 2, POB: MT
Myrtle, Daughter, DOB: Dec 1899, Age: 5/12; POB: MT
Montana Death Index:
Bill Tuchenhagen, DOB: 1898, DOD: 9 Nov 1969, Big Horn County, MT.
Perhaps you can contact the Big Horn County genealogical/historical society for an obituary of Bill Tuchenhagen and that will help fill in details. Also, the 1940 Federal Census will soon be released.
