Howard, thanks again for your reply and yes I have the info
you mentioned.
I must tell you that Samuel was the son of Henry Eggers and
Hannah Temperwolf. He and several of his siblings changed
the spelling to Aggers after a teacher supposedly told them
that Eggers sounded "too German" and Aggers was "more American." Anyway, that's the oral history passed down.
My dilema is that my g-grandfather is listed as in family records as a brother of Samuel but in a 1919 article I found on Google my g-grandfather said his parents were Christopher Eggers and Hannah Lutz. I have come to suspect after much research that the Google article is in error.
However the only record I could find of all of Henry Eggers
and Hannah Temperwolfs children is that of Samuel. So, I'm
hoping to locate a descendant of Samuel who just may have
records to clear this up definitively.
Confusing?? I reckon!!!
