I have just started trying to chart the Montalvo (Montalbo) line of my wife's name, but here is what I have:
Emma Maria Montalvo (b 1935) is
dau. of Rosario Montalvo(b-1899-d-1941) & Ignacia Nerio
Rosario Montalvo was
son of Rosario Montalvo(b-1864) & Maria Angela Cantu
Rosario Montalvo was
son of Manuel MONTALVO Treviño(b-abt 1834) & Clara Cavazos(b- abt 1832)married in 1860.
Manuel Montalvo Treviño was
son of Manuel Montalvo(b-abt 1810)& Mariquita
Treviño married in 1833.
I believe Manuel Montalvo's father may have been Joaquin Montalvo(b abt 1785)& Maria Rosa Perez(born abt 1790) but I cannot be sure yet.
Here is what I have on Lino Montalvo from research:
Tomas Montalvo(b-abt 1812) married Maria De Los Dolores Treviño abt 1833.
Jose Lino (Christened on 1 Oct 1836)
Maria Joaquina b-23 Aug 1836
Jose Victoriano b- 6 April 1839
Maria Alejandra b- 15 May 1841
Maria Ruperta b-29 May 1844
JOSE LINO Montalvo Treviño married Regina Leal on 5 Aug 1868
They had Maria Lucia b- 24 Dec 1870
Jose L. b- 5 Sept 1869
I have reason to believe Tomas Montalvo and Manuel Montalvo may have been brothers, but so far I cannot find the records to show this.
All of these records were made in Cadereyta Jimenez, NL, but some of the events may have taken place in the surrounding ranches and villages.
There is a book called " Origen De Los Fundadores De Cadereyta " by Guillermo Garmendia Leal that lists Francisco De Montalvo (aug 13, 1637) and Pasqual De Montalvo in Feb 25,1638.
I have not had a chance to check on the Arredondo name but there are some Arredondo,s
listed in some of the records.
If you have some dates or estimates to your ancestors births, marriages or deaths it would help.
I believe we may be related from Tomas Montalvo and Manuel Montalvo. They both married Treviños also.
My wife Emma Montalvo has family in Cadereyta and Monterrey with names of Rodrigues, Leal, Rios, Cantu, Gonzales.
Please send any more data you may have directly to me at AMART2@Prodigy.net. I have the almost all the Montalvo and a lot of Cantu line charted down from Manuel Montalvo(1810) and Leonardo Cantu (1803).
My wife Emma and I presently live in San Antonio, Texas. We travel often down to San Benito, Texas to visit her Mother Ignacia Nerio Montalvo every 30 days or so. There are many Montalvos from her line in San Benito, El Paso, California and Corpus Christi, Texas and of course probably in Cadereyta and Monterrey.
