My fathers name is Nicanor Montalvo. His fathers name was Miguel O Montalvo( the O stands for his mothers last name Olvera). My grandpa(Miguel) had four brothers: Francisco( tio KiKo),Mario,Felix & Manuel. He had four sisters & one step sister: Antonia( tia Tonya),Elvira( tia Vira),Alicia( tia Licha),Gloria & Dora( step sister). Their parents name were Ramon & Gregoria( her last name before she got married was Olvera) My grandpa married Maria Elena Orta, she had four brothers: Roberto( uncle Bob),Fidencio( uncle Fide),Pablo( uncle Paul) & Juan. She had one sister Guadalupe( tia Lupe). Story was told that my grandpas family lived or moved to Piedras Negras because that was where the work was at in the 1900's. So for all we know they could be from somewhere else in the state of Coahuila, Mexico or even another state in Mexico. My grandpa & his brothers were migrant workers. They traveled from Mexico to California for many years, then some how during those years my grandpa & three of his brothers found work in Michigan( Lansing). The brothers that ended up in Michigan were Mario,Felix & Manuel. His brother Francisco stayed in California with his kids & wife. Now my grandma( Maria Elena) family was from Mexico as well, I'm just not sure what part( which is sad). My dad tells me he remembers my grandma talking about Louisiana, her family use to be migrant workers as well. Traveling from Louisiana to Michigan. Were just trying to see if we can find some other family in California,Mexico and maybe somewhere else as well.
