Robert, I think we may be tightening this up very nicely. Actually, Lettice Weekes (Lidford) is indeed Catherine Lydfords mother. I was unaware of any children by William & Lettice before their son Abraham (definitely b. 28 Sept 1701), but was always interested in finding out. Lettice Lydfords husband (the Rev. Mathew Lidford, of the Christ Church Parish) definitely died 22 March 1692/93. He and Lettice Weekes were definitely married 6 Jan 1691/92. As you can see, he lived for only a short while as the husband of Lettice Weekes. That places Catherine Lydfords birth no later than Dec of 1693. Now,I was wondering where you came up with the date for William & Lettice's marriage? Also, when was Thomas Montague, son of William, born? IF he was born of William & Lettice, that would make him (Thomas) a half sibling of Catherine Lydfords (same mother, different fathers), and also a first cousin of Thomas Payne's! If this is indeed the case, it makes a wonderful arguement that the Thomas Montague refered to on p 455 of "Adventurers of Purse and Person" giving land to Thomas Payne in his will, and the one dieing as per Christ Church records 9 Feb 1720/21 are one in the same person. This would make more sense that Thomas Montague is a young man, giving land to close relatives at the time of his death.
Do you show who Mary Montague, daughter of William & Lettice married?
