Hi all,
I am looking for a Lilian F. B. Montague, born 1878 in England. Travelled to Australia and met my Great Grandfather there. His name was Arthur Hubert Hahn. They had one son there illigiamtely (Arthur was married). They then went to New Zealand for a year or two, where they had another son. They travelled to the US in 1902 and stayed. Lilian died in Chicago in 1906.
We think her two middle names are Fane Beresford, because that is what she put on her first child's birth cert.
We have a small book titled "Everybody's Pocket Encyclopaedia" with an inscription " Lilian F. B. Montague, Chevening Park, Kent, December 1894". There has been some allusion that her mother may have been a maid in waiting to the Queen of England at that time??
Her "husband", Arthur, also mentions in a letter that she was connected somehow with the wealthy Manley family of Melbourne, Austalia?? He told lots of lies, so who knows?
If anyone has any possible family connections, we would be very grateful. We are at a real dead end.
