I have just discovered that in one of our Ydna family trees the surname of MONTAGUE appears. We have one Charity MONTAGUE daug. of Benjamin MONTAGUE (some say Micajah but he was actually Charity's brother its thought). Charity MONTAGUE married Benjamin PIPPIN on Dec. 16, 1756 at the St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Church Hill, Queen Annes Co., MD (which was or may still be, part of Baltimore). This record is from the actual Church Records. Here's a link to see this lovely old church ~ http://www.historicqac.org/sites/CHstlukes.htm (hope that link works) And also the IGI record with Sources cited is found for Charity and Benjamin's marriage on Family Search . org Batch # M507671 There are several other MONTEGUE's (of several spellings) and PIPPIN's (of several spellings) who married at this church as well. Given that Bessie Wallis' - Montague family were from also from Baltimore, I can only presume that there is a family link here somewhere. Charity MONTAGUE and Benjamin PIPPIN must have come South to South Carolina at some point in time because their daughter Charity PIPPIN married Asa MOODY in 1792 Darlington, SC. Charity was said to have been born in North Carolina though around c1772 and she died in Covington Co., AL where her husband Asa MOODY and a few of his siblings and other relatives had gone when the land grants of Southern Alabama were being given out. I am having some difficulty finding out more about this Charity MONTAGUE/Montegue perhaps because I was spelling it differently than her Marriage record reads. If anyone can help me with more details about her family or knows of the link between Charity's family and Bessie Wallis Simpson's (Especially Bessie's MOODY link with the Montague's etc.), I would be most greatful. Thank you. Notify Administrator about this message?
