Just wondering

My name is spelled M-o-n-t-e-g-u-t. I am a junior. There were some Monteguts here in New Orleans who used the spelling M-o-n-t-e-g-u-e. I don't know much about our family's geneology. So as my subject line says, "just wondering."

On another note, when I was an undergraduate at Howard University in Washington, D.C., I first lived on Montague Street in upper northwest D.C. It appears to be the spelling of this family's surname. Also, I need to inquire, but my ex-wife's mother once said that here ex-husband's mother's maiden name was Montegut or Montague. They were/are New Yorkers.
