Some of the history about Samuel and Basil Gordon is in the book I mentioned earlier. I am trying to find who their descendants were and follow a line that might connect to my Gordon's. So far it has been a challenge. Thank you for the Kemmore link. I purchased a map of Stafford County a year or so ago that shows where the Gordon/Montague family home "Rosedale" once stood. It also shows where some of Basil and Samuel's holdings were in Falmouth. Sanuel bought the house he named Kenmore from the Fielding Lewis family. Fielding died destitute, but durng his lifetime was closely connected to George Washington. There is a book titled "Fielding Lewis and the Washington Family" by Paula Felder that I read on loan thru my local library. It is fabulous reading if you are interested. I digress here, sorry. Thanks for your help.
