Dear Tom,
Thank you, but I don't believe so. From the history given to me in writing, and verbally from my great aunt, his middle name was Marion and not Merry. He had only one wife and five children. He is buried near Elida/Lima, Ohio. Maybe Merry is a derivative of Marion? But, I wouldn't think so....? I will check in to it.

From what I know:
-my grandfather was Virgil Thomas Montague (Hicksville, Ohio),
-who was the son of James Oscar Montague (HIcksville, Ohio, married to Grace Irene Angell);
-who was the son of Thomas Montague (of American Township, Lima, Ohio and married to Elizabeth Neff);
-was the son of James Marion Montague (Gomer Road, Lima, Ohio, married to Susan Lockard, and dealt in sheep.) He came from Orange County, Virginia, born in 1814. And, it is there that the trail goes cold.

All I know from family history is that we are related to Peter Montague of England. But, I need to find the parents of James Marion to continue to make the link. I appreciate your help! You have been so kind and I wish you a very Happy New Year.
Cheryl
