Marie, I just stumbled upon your response while doing a google search on McLeavey in Baltimore. I recently found ancestors of mine that were named McLeavey who came from Ireland to Baltimore @ 1823. I am curious about the letter you mention regarding Prudence McLeavey and possible relatives in Baltimore. If I can find a connection, then perhaps County Down is their Irish origin point. Please let me know and McLeaveys mentioned. Here are the ones of mine:
James and Mary McLeavey (parents)
daughters
Mary Ann McLeavey (Hall)
Alice McLeavey (Chicken)
Margaret McLeavey (Galloway)
