Samuel Stiles married Amanda Montague in Hendricks County Indiana in 1871. The 1880 census shows him as B. Samuel Stiles. Looking at this census it is obvious the taker put middle initials first instead of first names first. The 1900 and 1910 census Shows what appears to have been the same man, married to an Amanda but his name is given as Stanfield B. Stiles. Is anyone familar with this family that might know if this is one in the same person. If so what was his name and who were his parents? Was he born in Indiana or Kentucky. The census records vary. Amanda Montague was the daughter of Clement and Sarah (Johnson) Montague. Does anyone know who Clement's parents were?
