Peter,
That is my grandfather, John Montague traveling from Scotland to Plainfield,NJ via Ellis Island in 1910. I fairly recently learned that he was born in Lisbellaw Co. Fermanagh around 1880 to Michael McTeague and Sarah Cullen. He had a sister Rose, married to a Mr. Lee who continued living in Lisbellaw until after 1945. His obituary in 1945 mentioned two brothers in Ireland, but no names. I recently wrote to McTeagues in Fermanagh and they believe we are the same family......There are a few bits and pieces that seem to indicate a connection to County Tyrone but nothing substantial.
1. Do you believe you are connected to my John Montague???
2. The Montague and McTeague names seem to have been used interchangeably by some families...you might want to research that possibility.
Write to me at eileencher_2000@yahoo.com if I can help.
