Thomas Bell along with his brothers emigrated Cannacadig, Penn. in 1740. Thomas and his brother James settled in Augusta, Va. Thomas had married Elizabeth Weir in Penn in 1742. Thomas Bell had a very distinguished military record during the Revolution serving as a Captain. He also served under Gen. George Washington therefore he was a member of the Society of Cincinnati. The heirship for Cincinnatti is not available as my deceased Monroe cousin claimed the membership and it is passed on to one of his sons. Thomas Bell removed to Woodford County, KY in 1791. If you go to the book written by Wm. E. Railey, "History fo Woodford County" you will find extensive information regarding his family. There are wills and other records available in KY relating to Thomas Bell of Woodford County.

I would also be interested in where you found the documentation stating that Andrew Monroe's middle name was Piper. I have not come across that in my research and would love to have that info. Andrew Monroe is my ancestor.

Hope this helped with your search. Linda Juba
