Sorry to be several days posting reply. Andrew was a son of William and Rachel. He did have a brother named Daniel and David. My proof comes from a family tree that was drawm by Andrew's son Judge Thomas Bell Monroe in 1853. The chart also shows that Andrew and Ann Bell had a daughter named Rachel Piper Monroe.
The children listed on the tree are as follows: Benjamin, George m. to Peggy (will 1770/1771), DAVID, William married to Jemina Smith (her will dated 1785, DANIEL married in Fauquier Co. to Martha (?), James, Alexander (Fauquier, Andrew 1749-1815 m. to Ann Bell, Thomas m. to Catherine Hore (son John). Many children. William's first wife was (?)Triplett.
I am delighted that there is a will by Thomas Monroe (brother of Andrew that list Andrew as Rachel and William Piper's son). I am anxious to go to the library and secure the document. If you get the documnet let me know.
I do know that Andrew is the son of Rachel and not of Triplett based on the naming of their first daughter Rachel Piper Monroe.
